HISTORY and PHARMACOLOGY:
There are 3 sources for extracting Podophyllin from Mandrake Root.  ONE is called
American Mandrake
or Mayapple.  This was used in old times as a laxative.  The SECOND is called
European Mandrake
and the THIRD is called
Indian Mandrake
although it did not originate from India.  There are 7 active chemicals in the resin extracted from Mandrake Root, and the one that is most affective against HPVs also known as Wart Viruses is
PODOPHYLLOTOXIN
.  The amount of that chemical in American Mandrake
is very small
.  The European Mandrake has about
4-6x more
of this chemical, and
the Indian Genus variety has up to 20x more of this chemical
