Wibi Lotion v2.0 Extreme Dry Skin Lotion

Alright, pretty simple, I couldn’t get WIBI any longer so I decided to make it myself. Although not exactly the original formula I’ve experimented enough to find as close to original as I could. The ingredients are listed on their old discontinued label and their old MSDS sheets list the formula to some degree. The rest was up to me to discover. As far as I’m concerned this formula works for me the same as the old WIBI formula used to work for me.
WIBI was introduced in the 1950’s from what I can find. It was a product that got traded around numerous times as its parent company was bought and sold. The last sale was 2016 to a company that discontinued Wibi Lotion. I called them and tried to buy the brand but they were not interested in selling. Tried to buy the formula but no interest in that either. Asked them to give me the formula – nope. Still doesn’t make sense for a product they still have no interest in.
I was born with extremely dry skin. Dry, itchy, flaky, did I say dry? Extremely dry skin. I may post some pictures. No I won't. Let’s just assume I mean very dry skin. In elementary school the girls wouldn’t dance with me because my skin “was like a lizard”. My skin flakes off layers continually. It may look like I have dandruff but it’s my dry skin.
That all changed when I discovered WIBI lotion. My life was changed and my skin appeared normal. I don’t remember exactly when that was but it was probably recommended by my dermatologist back in the ‘70’s. I bought WIBI by the case. Sure, I tried other products as they were introduced but nothing ever came close to duplicating the results I received from WIBI.
Imagine my reaction to learning the one item that let me lead a semi-normal life was deemed irrelevant by a mega-corporation. I immediately researched for a replacement and ordered up numerous products that seemed somewhat similar in concept.
Nothing worked the same, not even close.
I did a little research, ordered up ingredients and supplies and made a batch on December 17, 2019. Worked pretty good but was very thick. A little went a very long way. I put it in a glass jar and forgot about it and continued using a “replacement” product I had found. My skin was having a hard time and in the Spring of 2021 I pulled out the glass jar and gave it a go. My skin is pliable, normal looking healthy skin again.
I ordered up fresh ingredients, tweaked the formula a little, registered the name and domains and made a fresh batch. I’ve made numerous batches now and I think I like what I have come up with. I’m willing to share with others that have similar issues with extreme dry skin. I’m buying cosmetic grade ingredients and blending in a lab grade environment and packing into 16oz lotion bottles. I may do an 8oz if there is a need.
I’ll continue to make it because it works for me but I’d really like your feedback to see if you get similar results to the old WIBI lotion we all loved.
If you don’t have dry skin PLEASE don’t buy this product. It will probably feel sticky to you. If you do have dry skin I feel it works best to apply after bathing when your pores are moist and open. It is not greasy and does not feel greasy once applied. For me it soaks into my skin and moisturizes at a molecular level leaving my skin pliable. I’d like to know how it works for you.
It's very expensive to make in small batches so I’m selling it at just enough to cover my costs plus I'm paying the shipping.
I’m selfishly doing this to keep me in WIBI lotion. I’m making extra because I know I can’t be the only one that depended on this product.
If you order a bottle and decide it isn't for you just let me know and we can do a return. No hard feelings. I'll even pay the return shipping. I'm sure this isn't going to be the answer for everyone but if you liked the old WIBI I'm pretty sure you'll like v2.0.
I have two bottles available now with labels printed on our color printer. Labels are being printed professionally and will be ready the end of this month and I'll be making more product available at that time.
